          I want to thank you for taking the first step towards understanding what SOMATICS is and how Somatics can give you freedom from Chronic Muscle joint pain, Trauma Injuries and Stress-Related Disorders, while Improving Balance and Flexibility.

                              What is Somatics?

        Somatics:  Everything we experience in our lives is a bodily experience and the living body and mind are one, addressing one directly affects the other.

       During the course of ours lives, our Sensory-motor systems continually respond to daily stresses and traumas with specific muscular reflexes.  These reflexes, repeatedly triggered, create habitual muscular contractions, which we cannot voluntarily relax.  The result is Stiffness, Soreness and a Restricted Range of Movement.

       Stiffness and Restricted Range of Movement is a learned, adaptive response within the nervous system to injuries, trauma and stress. Because it is a learned response, it can be unlearned and reversed through a Somatic reprogramming of the Sensory-Motor system. 

        Somatic lessons will guide a person through movements slowly and repeatedly, calling attention to various body parts and their relation to one another.  These movements can help "reprogram" the brain, primarily the motor cortex, bringing about broader changes in one's body and sense of self.

         "Reawaken the Minds control of Movement, Flexibility and Health."  Becoming aware of and refining the quality of our movements, we will develop a broader repertoire of Physical, Mental and Emotional Activity.  You deserve a life of freedom from pain and stiffness and be able to have greater ease of movement.
